How often should I give my Labrador Retriever a bath?
Dogs like Labrador retrievers have been bread to work in the water. Their skin produces oils that help to keep them warm and dry. When you try to give your lab a bath you will notice that the water seems to roll off instead of soak in.
Excessive washing will remove these oils and cause your Labrador's skin to dry out.
Someone could tell you to stick to one bath a month or something similar. Though the only good answer is to only bathe your Lab when he/she really needs it.
only when he smells like toe jam. just brush him 2-3 times a week. bath once every 2 months. unless in a situation like going to dog beach. when i take my boy there then hes definately in need for a good bathing. its obvious no brush will fix that, or if he swims in a friends pool or your home pool. the chlorine and chemicals stick to him and if not batherd after that he will smell horrible!ly in these typs of circumstances should u bath your lab. or just go with the once every 2 months if you do neither of thise things with your dog. Also cool lil tip i brush him frequently and after i do i give him 2 sprays with his doggy purfume i got at pet smart. Brand id bed head and it smells great!! Last as well!
Bathing your Labrador Retriever too often could be bad for his/her skin. It is best to only bath your Lab when it is really really dirty.
Usually a thorough brushing with a good brush will eliminate dust, dirt and odor.
i think you should do it about every month
